THE APPEALS SECRETARIAT

Printer Friendly Page

If your benefits have been denied, changed or cancelled under the following programs then you have the right to appeal the decision.

You can also appeal if your application or renewal for the Alberta Child Health Benefit (ACHB), or your renewal for the Alberta Adult Health Benefit (AAHB) is denied because of your income.

Decisions about the cost-sharing arrangement under Alberta Aids to Daily Living may also be appealed.

Appeals with respect to adult facilities under the Support Living Accommodation Licensing Act may also be appealed.

Reports of abuse that have been investigated by a Protection for Persons in Care (PPC) investigator will result in a decision made by the PPC director. If a person does not agree or is unhappy with the director’s decision, they can appeal it.

The Appeals Secretariat is here to help you if you do not agree with a decision and want to appeal it.

...you can browse or print our brochure "A Guide to the Appeals Process" and our Appeals Secretariat poster on-line in PDF format?

Many of our publications have been prepared in Adobe Portable Document (PDF) format because it is quick and easy to convert documents to the web, and the software is free and accessible to most computer users. If you do not currently have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC, please go to the Adobe Acrobat website to download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader.  The Adobe site provides complete download and installation instructions.
